We’re excited to offer you a watch with an interesting history—this sleek and stylish timepiece! At first glance, it seems like a classic rose gold Altiplano, but if you flip it over, you’ll find a special inscription:
“Los diputados del Peru
a su presidente Armando de la Flor
Dic. 1961”
This translates to: “The deputies of Peru, to their President Armando de la Flor, December 1961.” We believe this watch was a gift from the deputies to their President.
Additionally, the watch comes with a Piaget-signed envelope addressed to "Mr. Armando de la Flor, President of the Chamber of Deputies." Plus the original certificate stating a delivery in 1961 to Lima, also includes a rare Piaget presentation box, which we believe is a later addition, possibly a service box from Piaget.
The watch itself is in great condition, featuring a no-lume dial, a beautiful 31mm pink gold case, and an ultra-flat hand-wound Caliber 9P movement, fully serviced by our watchmaker.
